Warriors Vs Thunder Odds

broken image

While the Houston Rockets' defense has consistently ranked among the NBA's elite since trading James Harden in mid-January, it's their offense that has turned the most heads in recent days.

In Monday's blowout win at Oklahoma City, the Rockets set a franchise record with 28 made 3-pointers in 52 attempts (53.8%), and they tied for the third-highest-scoring quarter in team history with 48 points, which they also did Saturday in New Orleans. In Monday's case, Houston tied the all-time NBA record with 11 treys in a quarter.

  1. Oklahoma City is favored by two-points in the latest Thunder vs. Spurs odds from William Hill Sportsbook, and the over-under is set at 216. Suns odds, line, spread: 2021 NBA picks.

Golden State Warriors vs Oklahoma City Thunder Odds - Saturday March 16 2019. Live betting odds and lines, betting trends, against the spread and over/under trends, injury reports and matchup stats for.

Now, courtesy of the NBA's scheduling approach for the 2020-21 season to minimize travel amid the COVID-19 pandemic, Houston will try to defeat the Thunder a second time in three days.

Besides the fact Oklahoma City (8-11) certainly wants revenge after Monday's laugher, the Rockets could also have a tougher time Wednesday due to the absence of their floor general. John Wall, who hit 4-of-5 from 3-point range (80.0%) on Monday, is sitting out for planned maintenance on the first night of a back-to-back for the Rockets. Former Sixth Man of the Year Eric Gordon, who led Houston in scoring and 3-pointers in the first game, is the most likely candidate to take Wall's starting spot.

Then again, the Thunder will also be short-handed, since leading scorer Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is out with a left knee sprain.

Advice and prediction

The Rockets were far better than the Thunder on Monday, and advanced metrics for the 2020-21 season suggest they are the clearly superior team, overall. That said, Houston will be without Wall on Wednesday, and a 'regression to the mean' performance from 3-point range wouldn't be a shock after shooting so well in consecutive games.

With Gilgeous-Alexander out for Oklahoma City, the Rockets should have enough buffer, even if there is an off shooting night. But it shouldn't be a surprise to see a closer margin of victory and fewer points on Wednesday.

Prediction: 112-103, Rockets

Thunder at Spurs: Odds, lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Spurs 97, Thunder 93

Money line (ML)

The Spurs (-250) have three key members who will remain sidelined due to COVID safety protocols while Aldridge is apparently dealing with a non-COVID illness and a question mark to play. Even shorthanded, the Spurs should have enough to get by the Thunder, but risking two-and-a-half times your potential return is not a good choice. This will be a narrow win with plenty of worry backing the favorite straight up. AVOID.

Against the spread (ATS)

The THUNDER +6 (-110) are underdogs by three buckets, and that makes OKC a good play. They haven't been playing well lately, but they are at least healthy. OKC won on its home court, 102-99, in the previous meeting against the Spurs -6 (-110) Feb. 24 as one-point underdogs. Look for OKC to keep it close, perhaps losing a one-possession game.

Over/Under (O/U)

The UNDER 219.5 (-110) is the best play on the board here. OKC posted a dismal 78 points in a loss to Dallas Wednesday, and they have scored 96 or fewer points in two straight, and three of the past five. San Antonio is shorthanded, and they will have trouble scoring the basketball, especially if Aldridge is held out.
